Neighborhood events
During the circle of the year, the Chabad House holds events to mark the holidays, the most prominent of which are: Simchat Beit Hashoeva, public Menorah lightings, Megillah readings and Purim farbrengen, Lag B’Omer parade and more. In addition, the chassidic Yom-Tovs are celebrated, including the events of the month of redemption – Kislev, the Rebbe’s acceptance of the leadership in Shvat, his birthday in Nissan and other days of virtue. The Chabad House events, which are held on average twice a month, are open to everyone, designed for all ages, men, women and children, embracing everyone regardless of their personal background, from every affiliation or level of observance. The events unite all the neighborhood’s residents. This is how the Chabad House acquired its nickname – the ‘Lighthouse’, by being a home of spreading light and spiritual and material warmth to the whole area.
