The Chabad community of RBS Gimmel celebrated the Rashbi’s celebration with a powerful event that connected “the light of Torah and joy.”
From a blazing bonfire to a Farbrengen of Bochurim that lasted into the night – it was a night of uplifting for the whole family.
Lighting the Light:
The event opened with a Dvar Torah from Rabbi Yoav Akrish, who captivated the audience with an explanation of the Torah of the Rashbi and the Rebbe.
After him, the community rabbi, Rabbi Chaim Eliyahu Gluchovsky, spoke, inspiring the audience about the power of the Rashbi to bring redemption and the wonderful unity of the community.
At the climax of the event, the Rebbe’s Shliach to the neighborhood, Rabbi Binyamin Mendelsohn, lit the central bonfire – a fire of faith that burns in the heart of the community.
“Tzivos Hashem” in Action: Torches, Verses, and Prizes
The children were the real stars of the evening!
In an impressive display of Jewish pride, the children gathered and proclaimed the 12 verses with torches of light in their hands and with a loud roar.
The top performers received awards of encouragement and appreciation, and each child received a pampering package of a bun with pastrami, a popsicle, and chilled shallots.
The enthusiastic dancing of the children and parents around the bonfire concluded the central part with boundless joy.
“Sheves Achim”: Gathering and Rich Refreshments
After At the bonfire, community members gathered for festive refreshments around tables laden with crackers and cold beer.
The evening ended with the Temimim– who greatly contributed to the success of the event – gathering at the Shlaih’s house for an overwhelming “al-Haash” gathering.
Around the barbecue fire and Chassidic melodies, the stimulating conversations and good decisions continued until the wee hours of the night.
